Heading for Break

It's finals week, and everyone is looking forward to heading home - but what I'm most looking forward to is my awesome producer, Katelyn, coming back from abroad! She was a champ to take on this project while studying in Spain, and despite the difficulties of being many time zones away has managed to still be a phenomenal producer - together, we have set up our crew, cast our roles (from the magnificent students at Theatre Fairfield!), started talks with our locations, and pretty much gotten this project off the ground!
Heading into winter break, I am confident that when we come back in mid-January we will be in a good place to shoot a movie over the first few weeks of February.

Coming Up With the Concept

While a Fairfield senior's capstone is typically produced throughout a student's senior year, I have been playing with the concept for my capstone since sophomore year: while constructing the annual "Senior Week DVD," I began to notice the versatility of DVD Studio Pro and how it can be used for so much more than creating a single menu to burn a DVD.
It got me thinking back to one of my favorite books when I was younger, Horse Show Champion. It was a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book, where every few pages I, as the main character, had to make a choice - do I take some practice jumps, or polish my saddle before my next event? Reminiscing on those style of books, and watching a "Whose Line is it Anyway" clip where Greg Probst played a serial killer maniacally giggling because "the came back in the house," I decided I wanted to create a film when the audience gets to Choose-Their-Own-Adventure.

The zombies were just an added bonus!
